Pirate Baseball Giving Back

The Pirates are always thankful for community support, so they jump in and give back when they can. Saturday morning, the Pirate baseball players and coaches assisted Speech Solutions and Walters Family Dentistry with their Adopt-a-Highway project. They started at 7:30 am on Linkhaw Road and filled 26 bags with trash. Go Pirates!

Pirates Named to All-County Baseball Team

Congratulations to senior AJ Brooks and sophomore Parks Ledwell for being named to the All-County Baseball Team. Brooks lead the Pirates with a .303 batting average and 8 RBIs. Pirate Graduate Justice Sampson Named to MEAC All-Academic Team

Justice Sampson, who is now a junior pitcher at NCCU, has been named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference All-Academic Team. Junior and senior student-athletes who have maintained a 3.0 or higher GPA receive this honor. Go Pirates! Justice excelled as a Pirate and continues to make his hometown proud. Read more here

26 Student-Athletes Lettered in Three Sports

Twenty-six student athletes were recognized at a luncheon last week for playing three varsity sports this school year. They received the Super Pirate award and were served a great meal. The luncheon was held in the Galleon Grille on campus, and the meal was prepared by Mrs. Rose Freeman’s culinary class (pictured below). Go Pirates!

Lumberton High School Varsity Baseball beat Red Springs High School 12-6

Saturday, April 15, 2017 12:00 AM Red Springs High School AWAY 6 Lumberton High School HOME 12 Game Recap Pirates defeated Red Springs 12-6 in the first round of the Slugfest. Kris Allen picked up the win. Pirates were lead at the plate by Brandon Norris, Dylan Bruce and AJ Brooks.

Tuesday, April 11, 2017 7:00 PM Scotland High School AWAY 6 Lumberton High School HOME 7 Game Recap Pirates defeated Scotland in extra inning to take over 2nd place in the conference. AJ Brooks picked up the win on the mound. Caleb Wilkerson had the winning rbi with a bases loaded HBP.
