We posted back in June about the Pirates receiving a sportsmanship award. The banner has been delivered to the school and will hang in the lobby. Great sportsmanship is a priority at Lumberton High School, and we are thankful that others have recognized the results of our efforts. The following is a recap of what we posted in June:
“The Sandhills Athletic Conference named Lumberton High School the winner of the John Williams Sportsmanship Award for 2018-19.
Sports teams from every school in the conference vote throughout the year. At the end of the year, all the scores are counted and Lumberton came out on top. Congratulations to all our sports teams including student/athletes, coaches, administration, SRO’s, game duty personnel, custodial staff, parents and fans!
This is an incredible honor to receive this award and this is definitely the direction we want our athletic program headed. Thanks to all who support Lumberton Pirate Athletics.”
