Boys Varsity Basketball · McNeill Breaks School Record

1996 Pirate graduate Mike Lowery set a school record in basketball for the number of career points scored at Lumberton High School. Lowery, who played 3 years, has a Pirate career point total of 1457.

As a Pirate, Lowery was named to the all county, all conference and all region teams. He led the team in 1996 to the regional championship. After high school, Lowery continued his basketball career at UNCP.

Last January, Jordan McNeill was recognized for scoring his 1000th point. See photo below of McNeill and his family with the ball that was presented to him.

In the game against Fairmont 11/26, McNeill broke the school record set by Lowery in 1996. He was recognized this evening before the game for being the all time leading scorer at Lumberton High School. McNeill now has over 1500 points.

McNeill has received two college offers and has interest from others. We can’t wait to see what else he achieves on and off the court.
