Breeden Named MVP of All-Star Game

Congratulations to senior Kwashek Breeden for being named MVP of the first Robeson County All-Star game. Breeden scored a team high of 22 points. This was a great event with an impressive turnout. Proceeds from the game went to Special Olympics. Click here to read more from The Robesonian.

McNeill Selected to Best of 910Preps All-Star Second Team

Junior Jordan McNeill was the only boys basketball player selection from the county for the Best of 910Preps All-Star Team for 2019. Congratulations Jordan! The sports staff at the Fayetteville Observer chooses from all public and private schools in the 10 county region. All-star selections are invited to Best of 910Preps awards banquet in June.

McNeil and Canady Named to All-District 4 First Teams

Congratulations to junior Jordan McNeil for being named to the boys basketball All-District 4 first team. McNeil averaged 21 points per game and 8.5 rebounds. McNeil led the county in scoring. Xavier Grissett was recognized at sophomore night Sunday at Sandhills Community College. Seeds have been announced for state playoffs and both Pirate basketball teams will play on Tuesday. The varsity girls (12th seed) will play at home on Tuesday hosting #21 seed Middle Creek. The boys are 20th seed and will travel to number 13 seed Garner Magnet. Girls game begins at 6 and boys at 7

One College Game…Three Pirate Graduates on the Court

Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) hosted Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) on Wednesday. Pirate graduates DJ McDonald and Stephon Lloyd are working toward a degree at FTCC and represent the college on the basketball court. Michael Dunbar, also a Pirate graduate, is working toward a degree at GTCC and represents the school on the court.
