Carter to Play Next Two Years of Eligibility at A&T

Daniel Carter, 2017 Pirate graduate and 3 year varsity letterman, continued his baseball career at Southeastern Community College. Carter’s goal was to play at a four year college after completing two years at Southeastern Community College. Congratulations to Carter! Who was Alton Brooks (Alton Brooks Stadium)?

Alton (Tunney) Brooks was a coach, mentor, role model, summer swim teacher, athletic director and so much more. Coach Brooks came to Lumberton High School in the late 1950’s. When Coach Brooks first came to Lumberton, he coached basketball, baseball and was an assistant coach for football. Pirate basketball had 291 wins under Coach Brooks.

Pirate All-County Baseball Selections

Congratulations to the Pirate baseball all-county selections. Seniors Parks Ledwell and Dylan Bruce were named starters, and Junior Camden Locklear was named to reserves. Ledwell will continue his baseball career at High Point University and Bruce at FTCC. Go Pirates!
